I need a 1911 hammer, sear, and trigger

I disassembled a friends 1911 and am attempting to replace the worn out parts. It wasn'y locking the hammer back in the cocked position. Looking at the hammer it seems like the engagement area was ground down as part of someone's attempt at a "trigger job".

I want to replace the sear and trigger too. The trigger that was in it is plastic, and I don't think I like that either.

Is there a packaged kit that has a hammer, sear, and trigger as a set? It doesn't need to be anything special. The cheaper the better, as long as the pistol will be safe. I was even hoping that I could find someone that upgraded their pistol and had leftover parts.

Can anyone direct me to a source?

It's not even my pistol. I told my buddy I'd look at it for him and get it shooting again. He hardly ever shoots, it will spend most of its time in a safe. I was really looking more for GI parts than any fancy custom parts. I told him it's probably be $50 in parts. also the pistol had some kind of crazy one piece leather wrap around grip, a magazine with a purple floor plate, and bulky beveled extended magwell.

It had a crappy laser that clamped on the trigger guard and a threaded aftermarket barrel and ugly cutts compensater installed. The frame and slide was stripped down to the raw metal and polished with superfine grit sand paper.

It is a US PROPERTY1911A1 frame with a remington rand slide. The serial number is 155xxxx. It was the igliest 1911 I've ever seen.

I just want to restore it to reliable functionality as cheaply as possible.

GI parts are scarce, but try Bill Ricca (www.billricca.com) and tell him that you need the parts for a Remington-Rand. He will help if he possibly can. Gun Parts Corp and the others either have Colt parts (which are preferable, but won't look original) or clone parts, some of which are OK, but others are not.
