I may need professional help,,,

I just ordered a NEOS Carbine Kit.

Last year on a whim,,,
I picked up a 6" NEOS pistol,,,
It's a nice enough gun but wasn't a favorite.

I decided it was just too barrel heavy,,,
So when I noticed a 4.5" barrel on sale at Midway I bought it.

All of a sudden I liked the NEOS a whole lot better,,,
It became my favorite James Bond/Buck Rogers style plinker,,,
The improved balance of the short barrel made all the difference to me.

Fast forward a few months and I was given a $50.00 holographic sight,,,
The only thing I had to try it on was the 6" barrel for the NEOS,,,
All of a sudden that pistol became a 50 yard tin can killer!

I saw an old briefcase at a garage sale for $1.00,,,
About $10.00 worth of styrofoam later,,,
And I had a custom carrying case.

Then I started shooting it more so I bought 3 extra mags for it,,,
I modified a nylon tactical rig I found at a pawn shop,,,
Now I look like a bad-a$$ Operator.

I thought I was completely finished,,,
Then I saw the NEOS Carbine Kit at budsgunshop.com,,,
I have a very nice 4X rimfire scope just sitting in my gun cabinet,,,
I was able to resist for a few days but I finally succumbed to the "need" and ordered one.

Now I have to find a new case to put it all in.

Seriously,,,
I think I need professional help! :o

Nah dude, you're fine.
The Neos is a decent gun.

I have a small fortune sunk into a S&W 22/s.
2 extra barrels for it and a red dot for one of those barrels and a 4X scope for the other.

I stow/carry the whole thing in a foam lined plastic case.

It's my "Ahnald" gun.
I figure I have about $700 all told in the thing.

I had to Google to find out what a NEOS is.
Definately a futuristic looking gun.
What is the legality of adding the long barrel and stock? I do know that is a fuzzly area, legally speaking.

I asked the BATFE about it,,,

They referred me to one of their rulings about "kits",,,
Apparently it's fine to go from pistol to rifle and back to pistol.

What could be illegal is to put the stock on it,,,
And keep the pistol barrel on it.

I have this obsessive compulsive thing about "sets" of things,,,
It's great fun for me to assemble "kits" for my stuff.

Right after I ordered it I called my musician brother,,,
He said he might have an old Mandolin case,,,
If so that might be perfect to hold it all.

Last weekend I took a kid from my university to the range,,,
We broke my new Ruger/22/45's in.

But after we shot those pistols,,,
He took the NEOS with the 4.5" barrel,,,
I used my 4.5" 22/45 and we played with the dueling tree.

Dang those young pups with their sharp eyes,,,
He won every 20 round duel we shot.

Aarond, I didn't even need to read the reason why and I was already agreeing with you. I guess it takes one to know one though... :D

When are we going to see pics of your Operatored out Neos?

Sounds fun, I can always count on you for something new, interesting & fun. :D

Hello Yung.gunr,,,

Oh you know me,,,
As soon as I receive the carbine kit,,,
I'll make the carrying case and take some pics.

That mandolin case my brother has isn't big enough,,,
So I'll need to make a case of some type.

Sometimes I think I only buy new guns,,,
So I can build a gunbelt/holster,,,
Or a spiffy carrying case.

One gun I bought (S&W Model 10) I was only able to shoot once,,,
I made a gunbelt and holster for it very quickly,,,
Sold it to an admiring friend 3 days later.

I figured I can always find another Model 10,,,
And make another cool rig for it.
