Well, folks, I think I've got a deal made. A friend recently sent me one of those stupid email things where you fill out a survey and send it back to the originator . . . supposed to teach you about your friends. Well, I learned all right! After "Ban guns?" she wrote "Umm . .. ban them."
Needless to say, I responded to this, politely inquiring what she thought I had done to deserve having my guns stolen from me and from whence she thought she derived the right to do it. She responded with an offer for compromise, as follows:
1. All guns in the U.S. are banned. Sorry about this part, folks, she drives a hard bargain.
2. I and all my descendents are exempt from the ban, now and forever (she's one of those "well, I don't think YOU would do anything bad" kind of antis.)
Now, I realize that this looks bad, but you have to understand that I'm facing liquidation as a gun owner and I'm going to make the deal I have to make. The right thing is not always popular.
On the other hand, if any of you have any firearms you'd rather not see destroyed, well, I just had my birthday and in my hands they'd be safe. Who knows, I might even loan one out to one of you non-gun-owning peasants sometimes, though we'd have to be careful about that because there's going to be a regulatory commission to make sure I don't sell my guns . . . . .
Anyway, let me know what you think. I'm going to tell her yes today so she can start lobbying now, because I'd like her bill to be voted on by the time Hell freezes over.
