I love Snubbies!

This A.M. I have been sitting here at the I Pad, alongside is my little Model 36 which I have just been admiring!
There's just something magical about Snubbies! The way they fit the hand, hide anywhere, andcan get right to business if needed.
I'd like to have a 3" Model 10 round grip also a large bore 3" as stablemates but retirement kinda limits things... I have a 4" Model 10 which carrys jpretty easy for a full size revolver!
Wow wouldn't a .38Special Cimmaron Old West Self Defense Stallion be cool to have too! Just think a Single Six sized, 3" S/A would be so cool! I don't know if they're still in production but I haven't ever seen one in the flesh yet. They only list for$609, pretty high but it's a specialty gun.
Yep, ya HAVE to have at least ONE Snubby in your life!
I have a 5" Piettia Police, which is nothing more than a chopped '61 Navy, it really feels a lot smaller than a full sized Navy and hides in a smaller holster well! Guess you could call it "almost a Snubby", huh?

I have one of the original Charter Arms .38 special snubbies that I inherited from my grandfather. But I have always been intrigued with the big bore snubbies, .44 mag and up....

Snubs have always been my favorite. I carry Two every day. The 442 is my favorite pocket gun. I have been hiding from Ohio weather in Florida since the middle of January and my carry guns have been my 442 in the pocket and LCR357 IWB. I also brought my SP101, a Taurus 605, a NAA 22 mag and a Glock26. The only reason I brought the Glock was to sight it in. I very rarely carry it. The wife sometimes snags the 442 so then I carry the LCR357 in my pocket and the SP101 IWB. I left a few at home and kind of miss my 7 shot 357 Taurus Snub. I'll have to take it for a spin when I get home.

I to am a fan of the snubbies, I got a S&W 638, 2 649's, 940, NAA 22LR & 22MAG and if your just talking about small barreled guns then my S&W 25 & 65LS & 696, Rossi 720 and Ruger Speed Six 9mm will all join in. I wont even get started on the small autos....:D

I recently fired two snubbies and was amazed at the smoothness and accuracy of both guns. You can argue all day as to what 'accuracy' is but a 4" group at 25 feet will do the job in a SD situation. Anyhow, I never was comfortable carrying semi-auto with one in the chamber either striker or hammered fired with a safety and loaded indicator. I do carry an unchambered Sig P238 but only while on the motorcycle otherwise my carry piece is one of these:

Top left: Rossi M88
Top right: Rossi M68 (NIB, never fired, left-over from my 1980's FFL days)
Bottom left: S&W 36 (NIB, nickel, never fired, acquired in 1984);
Bottom right: Rossi late 1960's vintage "Bangor Punta S&W 36 clone"

I've fired the M88 and the M36 clone but I have not fired the S&W M36 nor the M68. These guns have made me a believer in snubbies for EDC. Both have a terrific feel in my hand, solidly built and accurate. The go-to EDC is the M88 with the 'clone' as a car gun. The M68 is my 'walk the dogs' gun in case my mutts decide to get involved with neighborhood racoon. I occasionally carry the S&W.

642 owner here! Love this little gun. The trigger is pretty heavy so I bought the Apex kit which I haven't installed yet. I'm hoping it will lighten it up enough and I don't encounter any FTF's.

The 2" gun is harder to shoot well and gives up a lot in performance as velocity drops off rapidly. But they are easily concealed and look like they are open for business. Anyone looking at a 2" revolver knows it exists for one purpose: to shoot people at close range. My favorite writer (me) once described the "snub revolver" as "simultaneously appealing and appalling."

I have never owned a 2" Colt (woe is me) but I have a few Smiths.

A snubbie just feels "right" when ya get awakened in the middle of the night by a strange noise!
I have other more powerfull revolvers also a favorite Model 10 that comes in second place for my "night gun", but the Snubbie is light, points quickly and is easy to just stick in your pocket. out of sight.
I hate to say it, but if the Cops come out to investigate the same noise, the little snubby disappears quick, anywhere on your person so YOU aren't consideered a bad guy!
They're just the perfect nite gun!
Far as hitting anything with em, that takes pratice and lots of it!

Snubbies have always fascinated me as well. Everyone from "G men" to police officers using them as a backup. Now with the concealed carry in place in many states. They have become very popular again. For me, it is the nostalgia of the gun from the old days that interests me.

This Model 36 snubby is in excellent shape with the original box and papers.
