I LOVE my Smith & Wessons, but this is too much......

DIRECT from "Faustian Firearms, Inc." (AKA Smith & Wesson)(www.smith-wesson.com): http://www.smith-wesson.com/misc/agreement.html .....and if that's not enough to induce reverse peristalsis: http://www.smith-wesson.com/misc/breakingnews.html
You HAVE to read the last paragraph
here....the part about "principles".

So NOW all these rules apply to S&W products
ONLY? It was ALWAYS THAT WAY? REALLY? Funny....you'd think that would have
been specified in the first place, and been made QUITE CLEAR to their OWN DEALERS, saving themselves from the recent backlash from dealers and us S&W owners/po'd shooters.
Ed Schultz, and Slime & Weasel will NEVER see another dime of my money. The letter I faxed to S&W was pretty sedate. I just had some questions (which, of course were never even alluded to in Ed's response), one of which was how they were going to avoid compromising the overall reliability of a defensive firearm under the strict design guidelines in the agreement. I Got a LETTER from them yesterday....which obviously was typed by a primate, and then PROOFREAD BY ANOTHER ONE.
It Started out: "Dear Mr. Red Manson".... not even close. Funny...they always got my name RIGHT on the INVOICES they sent me! That was the straw that broke my back!

While I love the Smith & Wesson products I own (I'm wearing a S&W shirt right now!), I'll NEVER own another NEW one (which sucks because I like this shirt!).

Your first url to Slime & Weasle does not work and needs to be replaced with a valid url.We are boycotting Slick & Clinton products in our gun shop &suggesting that
our customers buy some other brand firearm
that supports our Second Ammendment rights.

Done; Thanks for the heads up. Funny....that link worked earlier. And actually, I prefer Ruger's products....and friendly customer service people like theirs. Take Care- Dakotan

just beating a dead horse here, but ruger is turncoat just as much as s&w. they just turned a longer time ago. some might even say billy boy's turncoating was worse.

And a good day to you, as well!
Just trying to provide a little information some people may or may not have, and a
personal viewpoint on it; I wish I hadn’t bothered. So a link didn’t work, big deal, go to the main site and click if it was so important to you that you had to post just to whine about it. So I shoot, among others, Rugers and Smiths (not NEW Smiths; I’ve boycotted them too, but I’m not STUPID enough to sell the the S&W guns or products I own; I LIKE them); SO WHAT?

SO ...exactly what do you “elite experts” shoot?. 1911’s that are far beyond the price
range of the average shooter....maybe Strayer-Voigt or Stringer-Tripp’s offerings? Lucky you. Glock?...who is presently “fingerprinting” each of their new guns via a database containing “chamber signatures” taken from a fired case from each gun they produce? Colt?...enough said.

Or maybe Taurus, Beretta, or SIG.....oh yeah; All great American-IZED companies.

We all goodheartedly poke fun at each other's guns, but this is B******T!
We all shoot. We all have guns, whoever may have made them. It seems that if you don’t
shoot a gun made by a manufacturer EVERYONE approves of, your opinions and contributions to the forum are null and void, and you better be wearing Nomex.

Elitism at it’s finest....THE LAST THING WE NEED RIGHT NOW. “Divide and conquer” seems to be alive and well, and hard at work.
Franklin was right. WE WILL ALL HANG SEPERATELY, if these attitudes prevail over
our COMMON CAUSE!

GET OVER the “my gun is better than yours is; I know more than you do, nyah, nyah”
syndrome, and GROW UP. Wake up and JOIN THE FIGHT. When was the last time you contacted your elected officials about firearms legislation? Don’t have time? I suggest that you MAKE SOME TIME!

NOBODY knows it all (myself most definately included!)...although way too many think
they do...you know who you are ;). I shoot what I build, and what I like; not the gun that is currently “in fashion”, which will inevitably turn out to be flawed (think “o-ring” on the HK USPs, or “unsupported chamber” on .40 Cal Glocks, or “slide separation” on older Berettas (why do you think the Elite’s slide is designed differently from the 92FS?), or “horrible inaccuracy” of Pre-MKII RUGER P-85s.....the list goes on.
In case you’re wondering who this idiot is: Not that it’s any of your business, but I’m a
lifelong shooter with 10+ years experience as a gunsmith (not the best, not the worst, just honest), and former manager of a gun shop for 5 years before I went out on my own; and of course an NRA member. I’ve been on BOTH sides of the counter, AND in the back.
I’m also a DISABLED shooter, since a boat accident in’97, and adapt firearms to meet
other disabled shooter’s needs when I physically am able to do the work. Sometimes I can stand unsupported, and do the work I love, sometimes I can’t. I live with it. Oh well!
Bottom line; A good friend with wrist/joint problems due to a bone-marrow transplant
dropped some nice ducks with a custom-stocked shotgun I built for him.

I simply don’t feel that I have to advertise my “credentials” to feel “important” enough to post; that’s why nothing is in my profile anywhere I post.

By the way, the following is a post about Bill Ruger’s “turncoat actions” on Glock Talk
by Nick, a moderator there:
QUOTE:
“man you guys are way way off.
There is a book out called "Ruger and his guns" it terminates all these rumors and no Bill Ruger did not write it plus many still have it wrong about the Gun show deal; Ruger never said that!
The message was taken out of context from a memo sent to distributor in 1987 or 1988!!!
by the Denver Post. The memo stated that dealers should not sell at gun shows unless
their products are properly displayed with class! that was it! note Rugers are still being sold at gun shows!!
here is an excerpt from our ruger forum

"This has been published in several places but I'm reading now from the book Ruger
& His Guns by R. L. Wilson. (pages 217-218 if you have the book). The idea for a
magazine limit (which was originally set at 15 not 10) was approved by the 14-member
Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute. Bill Ruger was just
outspoken in the way he became involved in a very up front way. They were trying to
head off further banning of entire classes or types of firearms (virtually ALL of which
weren't even manufactured by Ruger). Please remember, SAAMI includes such manufacturers as Smith&Wesson, Remington, Winchester, Browning, Marlin, Mossberg, and others. Anyway, congress passed an Assault Weapons Ban in 1994 that took an additional 5 round limitation on magazines (10, rather than 15) and banned 19 groups of military style firearms. Unfortunate/bad stance by SAAMI, you bet.
Blame it ALL on Bill Ruger, no way.

Anyone, please feel free to check this book as well as other publications. It IS a great
book for any firearms enthusiast, not just Ruger fans!

So please read the book it does clarify a lot of what happened so if people still want to boycott Ruger then boycott Remington, Winchester, Browning, Marlin, Mossberg, and
others as well.” -ENDQUOTE -------------------------------------------
Hope that clears up some things, and feel free to check a different source than this book.
We’re all shooters. WHAT ELSE MATTERS?
Do you think the gun bigots are only going to ban SOMEONE ELSE’S gun?

Take Care and JOIN RANKS- Dakotan
