I love my G26 but I want to add a Sig to my 9mm stable

Advice? Okay.

1. If you're married, come up with a good reason why you need the SIG before you walk in the door with it.

2. Don't grab the first SIG you see. Shop around. Gotta-have fever has cost us all money in the past.

3. If you buy from a private party, arrange to meet him at the range and make the transaction contingent upon the weapon cycling through a couple mags without a hitch.

4. As for which SIG to buy, that's whatever you like best. You may want to rent different models to see which fits you.

sig?

there are so many good sigs out there but i absolutely love my p228 - not much recoil, 13+1 (w/ hicaps), and concealable. there's a solely sigforum out there on the web if you want more info.

and david is right - i had to have my sig and probably paid a bit much. doesn't matter to me though, i had to have it now...

I agree, the P228 with hi-cap's is the best
case scenario; for a couple of good reasons:
a) easy to conceal, and b) it ain't much
demand for a full size P226 with 10 round
magazine's; and preban's are very expensive.
P228 high cap's hold 13 rounds; whereas P226
only hold 15. So, I would definitely go for
the P228. I have got one, and truly love it.

I just got back from Sig Arms Academy and used one of their P228s for a course. That is a sweet gun. If you can find one, jump on it.

But I'm probably looking for a P229 in .357 Sig. That way I can add .40 and 9mm barrels (and magazines) and have three in one. Some people say the P229 is more top heavy, but I don't really notice it.

I just bought a police trade in 228 from a Pennsylvania dealer for $460 shipped to my ffl. It was in excellent conditon and came with night sights and a 226 magazine. Normal capacity mags can still be had for about $50 if you look hard. You can also buy 20 round mags if you are willing to pay the $100 + they cost.

Very nice pistol and fits my hand like a glove. That should be your concern too. "If the glove don't fit, you must acquit.":)
