I love Savage for the reasons displayed in these pics. I took my Savage 10fp .308 and my savage 12vlp 300wsm out for some shooting after I boresighted them both at the stop sign on my corner last night. I was very pleased. Here's the loads if anyone's interested.

.308 win
168gr smk
44gr r-15
coal 2.809

300wsm
190gr smk
63gr H4350
coal 2.87

The target is roughly 2 3/4" diameter. This is only at 100yds, but if is like the other loads, then it's money!! I also threw in a couple pics of the guns and "the lab". Y'all be good.

Putting the fact that used a stop sign to bore sight your rifle gives the anti-gun crowd ammuntion to benefit gun control hipe. I'm happy the your rifles preformed well.

Any good rifle could have fired those groups; Remington, Savage, Winchester, TC, Howa, Sako . . .

Glad you like it, though. Good shooting.

Sweet rifles dude, I love my Savage rifle, it shoots real tight! I also have a Remington that shoots real good,(it actually belongs to my oldest son now) in a 3006, the Savage is a 110 btw.

I love my OLD Remington rifle 700,300mag.But the Savage will do in a pinch. mostly when I'm killin stop signs.:D

Boresighting doesn't require firing and some of us live in very gun-friendly environments. I routinely use a corner of a communications panel to boresight my rifles. I've even set up my portable bench in the driveway to teach neighbors how to boresight. One one occasion I had three or four folks standing around while we had an informal boresighting session. With no ammo present and the bolt out of the rifle, it presents no hazard to anyone. Nothing to it, perfectly safe and a nice way to meet the neighbors.

The conversation generally turns to ammunition, so after we're done boresighting we'll put the rifles into cases and go into the garage and talk about reloading. It's a great way to meet the neighbors.

paw paw if i had neighbors i would agre with you but yes your spot on with the bore sighting on the stpo sign at about 25 30 yards they fill the barrel of most guns.

I was just surprised at how close my cheap bore sighter got. Both guns would've been deadly at up to 200 yards without any adjustment. It made me smile anyway. I put a tactical medalist on the 10fp today so im gonna go do some precision work this evening.

For bore sighting I use a round reflector about 80 yards down the driveway from my shop. This usually gets me within a couple of inches of the center of the target.

For offhand snapping in I use my chickens, who are always plucking around the yard.
