    2. Copyright law provides for “fair use” of portions of a copyrighted work. You can copy no more than a SINGLE paragraph from the article to your post (3 or 4 sentences at most).

    3. You must provide a link to the article along with the name of website. For example: ww.xxx.yyy/zzz (The Lower Thumbsuck Daily News).

    4. You must provide, in your own words, a brief summary of the article AND your reasons for believing it will be of interest to TFL members. Failure to do so may result in the thread being closed or your post being deleted as a “cut and paste drive by.”

    5. Photographs and other images are also copyrighted. "Hotlinking" of images (so that it appears in your message) from other sites is also prohibited unless you own rights to the image. If you wish to share an image, provide a clickable link to it.

Posts that do not follow these new guidelines will be altered or deleted by staff. Members who continue to violate this policy may lose their posting privileges at TFL.

I Know This Is A Firearms Resource Site, But...

...why no sub forum for knives? Knives and firearms go hand in hand it seems to me. And, yes, I know there are forums devoted solely to knives, but I am more of a gun guy that carries a knife than the other way around, so, I like to discuss with people of like minds.

And, I did look at this,

http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=184586

but it seems that was more related to a sub forum just to BS in.

Anyway, not a huge deal, just asking since I bought a new knife tonight and am itching to tell someone.

I suppose I could be flippant and just say, "Knives are not Guns."

We've long debated the question of a subforum for .22 cal. The end result has always been, no. It would ultimately detract from the overall theme of TFL. We are a resource board. For all firearms. We are not going to limit any particular forum to a specific caliber. Now transpose that answer to knives.... I think you will get the answer.

By the way, thanks for being so polite about your question. It's a refreshing change in today’s fear inspired atmosphere.

"Knives are not Guns."

And, I am proud that the knives are not included on this forum.

In my opinion, the 2 have nothing in common...as such, I have never understood why people include knives in their gun pictures. I would like to see your gun, but I have no interest in your knife.

Better than photographing your guns with your watch, though. That's the one I don't get.

Anyway, thanks for the answer.

Keep in mind we do have a Gear & Accessories forum. Knives can be discussed if it's relative to a firearm or hunting.

"To what mil-surp does this bayonet belong?", etc. is acceptable.
