I just pick up a used gun

Hi Guys
I am new to this site , I just picked up a used S&W model 60 357 revolver , the only issue the gun had was the ejector rod looked and spun a little bent when I got the gun .
Someone used plyers to tighten the rod ... Dumb-*** , They messed up the kneral on the end , I am going to see if my lathe can re- kneral a pattern that small .
With the rod hand tight it spins straight and true.
My question is how tight should the rod be .. it seems very happy hand tight .

A replacement ejector rod is inexpensive. I think I'd just get one from www.smith-wesson.com (call customer service) or from www.brownells.com

A half drop of blue #242 Loc-tite and hand tightened, should be enough to keep it in place.
