I just got a Taurus 44 4"

Howdy Folks,

I'm writing just to pass along a good experience with a new gun.

Yesterday I got a new Taurus .44 magnum with a 4" barrel. It's the blued version, and it looks really sharp with the black frame and black grip. I got mine for backcountry camping, and I opted for the 4" barrel for easy concealment when necessary. I got it for $380 NIB in Tucker, GA.

The shooting is very comfortable. My gun is ported so muzzle flip is manageable. Shooting .44 specials is a treat, no recoil at all. The .44 magnums certainly make themselves felt, but it's not nearly as bad as I was expecting. I don't think it's any worse than a .357 magnum I shot the other day.

If you have been thinking of a .44 magnum for camp defense and the like, I can think of a whole lot worse than this sucker.

You got a great price. Where in Tucker did you get it - Tucker Guns?

Yes, Tucker Guns. I'd heard they were a bit on the rude side, but I had nothing but good service from them. I asked for their best price on the gun (marked at $420) and they came back with $380! I think that's a really fair discount.
 
Just like Hawkman I also have a Taurus Stainless .44 mag with a 6.5 in bbl.
And as he said that was a great price.

MattC58, & Hawkman... I'm in Atlanta as well. Myself, Rainbow Six, DaHaMac, Joe Klug, & Killer45Auto have met a few times to shoot. They are all very nice people. Keep an eye out for any Georgia TFL Shoots in the Lock & Load section. You're deffinately invited. I'd like to make the next range outing an outdoor affair. I have a friend who knows an outdoor public range where it's less than 10.00 per car load for the entire day up in North GA. Keep an eye in L&L though. That's where most of our events will be announced.
