I just got a T/C Classic .22 today

This is a beautiful little rifle and now I'm considering getting rid of all my other .22's----even the 10/22.

My only real question is: Is it safe to dry fire it and not damage the breech face or firing pin? I read the manual closely and didn't see anything about dry firing it.

I can't wait to shoot it!!!

Thanks in advance.

Yes the T/C classic is nice and super accurate. I got my wife one 6 months ago when they first shipped to our area. Our only complaint is that there still are no spare clips available, but I'm sure that sooner or later they will start to arrive.

Now your question about dry firing:
Unless a "MFG states" that dry firing is OK, I wouldn't.
Keep in mind that firing pin on a 22 is headed directly for the rim of the the chamber. Thus, if there is no firing pin stop (or a primer to hit) you're going to damage both the pin & the chamber face with repeated hammering.

Enjoy your new toy, k

I sold my 10/22 to buy my T/C Classic, and I whole heartedly agree with your sentiment towards yours. Out of the box it is lighter, more accurate, has a finer trigger, and is more nicely finished than any other semi auto .22 near it's price. If you like to "tinker" with your rifles, buy the 10/22.
