I just bought a CZ.

I just bought a CZ97B .45acp pistol for $350. It's used but appears to be in great shape. Was this a good price? I plan on using it to get started in IPSC and IDPA. Does any one have any advice on using this gun for these sports?

Seems like a good price, think I just saw a new one for about $500 in the Chicago area. The 97 looks like a good gun, just got a 85 last week. If you want a trigger job you can get one from CZ-USA's gunsmith for $65 SA/$125 DA/SA. Good luck.

Bwahahahahahahaha! You've been had.

Uhhh... do you care to sell it to another sucker, namely, me?

Good buy and congratulations.

I believe you got a good enough deal to call it "not quite stealing"...good on ya! Enjoy your CZ...supposed to be one of the most accurate out of the box guns made....Shoot well

Good deal on a great gun. Probably the best DA/SA .45 out there (sorry Sig fans--you could've had two for what you paid).

What a great deal! Now all you need to do is pick up about 4 more magazines for it, a good holster & mag holder and you're ready for the match. Good luck. Oh, by the way, Natchez is a good place for bulk ammo if you're not reloading.

Thanks for the confirmation guys. I just have to wait until I can get out and shoot it. Thanks schild, for the info about the trigger job, I'll keep that in mind.

I am becoming revolver-centric as I get older but I do own a CZ 75 and the things are just meaty. On mine, there is no lost metal in the slide to frame area like with many of the steel slide/aluminum frame guns.

If you looking for a handgun to satisfy all of the PC whims, the CZ is not the answer. If you want an accurate, durable, shoot any factory ammo and most properly done reloads and still keep ticking pistol, you are at home with the CZ.

Mind you dilligence is paramount since there is no de-cocker and the hammer must be manually riden down but aside from that, they are in my estimation the best all-around semi auto made to day. I like the hammer as it keeps me on a heightened level of alert and this is also required with a revolver.

When lowering the hammer, try placing the weak hand thumb in the area in front of the firing pin like Smith and Wesson advises with their revolvers. You can go to www.Smith-Wesson.com and download the manual for modern revolvers to get a visual picture of what I am talking about.

Congrat's there sidetracker, on your purchase of a CZ.
I have been reading some raved review's of the CZ75B;
and I'm sure your .45 caliber will be as equally impressive.
