I J Safety Hammerless Mfg Date ? Please?

Iver Johnson Safety Hammerless

I know they were made from 1895 til 1950 but would like to pin this one down a bit closer for a friend who is trying to sort out some limbs on her family tree.

Tis in .32 S&W. 3" bbl. Ser # 16,0xx. Nickle. Owl on grps.

Any help on dating would be appreciated.

Sam.....no, I didn't buy it new.

Sorry, Sam, but I don't think there is any way under the sun to pin down a manufacturing date. I'm pretty certain that the records that IJ did keep, which were spotty at best, are long gone.

Been worth it tho......found yet another swing out revolver that the cylinder swings to the RIGHT.

Goodonya Jim.:) I knew bout the French and was suprised by the Ivy J swing to the right model, also in the 19th century.
