I hope everyone writes their Mayors

If your Mayor is on the list, I hope you will take the time to call or write. NRA has sample letters that you can print out or cut and paste for emailing.

MORE TOOLS TO COMBAT ANTI-GUN MAYORS

In recent issues of the Grassroots Alert, we have been documenting anti-gun New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's coalition efforts to impose New York City-style gun laws across the nation. In addition to compiling an updated listing of the mayors that sign on to Bloomberg's efforts, NRA-ILA has added a new tool for you to fight against this blatantly anti-gun coalition.

By visiting www.nraila.org/Legislation/Federal/Read.aspx?id=2533 not only will you find the list of mayors who are cahoots with Bloomberg, but also some sample letters for you to send to your mayor. One letter urges those mayors who have joined the anti-gun coalition, to remove themselves. The other sample letter encourages those mayors who have so far resisted pressure to join, to remain resolute. In addition to the sample letters, we have also posted a link to our "Tips for Communicating with Your Elected Officials" page that will provide you additional guidance when contacting your mayors.

Please visit www.nraila.org/Legislation/Federal/Read.aspx?id=2533 today to take action yourself, and share this link with your family, friends, and fellow firearm owners and encourage them to do the same!

Hey, Magnum,
Just happened to look up your link, and lo and behold, the city nearest me has their mayor on that list. Needless to say, I'll be sending a letter. Thanks for helping me to keep informed.

After reading the NRA's guidelines about writing to your local mayors, an idea came mind about writing to mayors in neighboring cities.

For example, San Francisco is greatly dependent on tourist dollars. The businesses there depend on people coming into the city on weekends and they depend on people who commute to the city to buy things in the city.

SO... when writing to a city like that, politely ask the mayor to pull out of the Bloomberg alliance, stating that if the mayor continues to support Bloomberg, you will avoid businesses in their city in favor of others. You can also draft a form letter for your friends to send to the mayor supporting that position.

If the mayor doesn't respond, then have everyone you know send a letter to businesses in the city stating why they will no longer get any of (your/their) business. Nothing personal, it's just that the mayor prefers to make life safer for criminals that business customers.

You can bet that some businesses receiving a dozen or so letters will be yakking into the mayor's ear or the chamber of commerce's ear.

(and no, I would not think it's a good idea to remind S.F.'s Gavin Newsome that he's already, literally, F'd up big time and can't afford another one.) :D

We have Two, one in Dallas and one in Houston. Im suprised Austin didnt make the list. The make up of those cities is probably different from suburban and rural texas.

This actually made me chuckle;

Michigan:

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick
Detroit, MI

Anyone else from the area, laugh with me.

Folks here in Alaska smacked the Anchorage mayor around until he withdrew from the Bloomberg Syndicate.:D

However, I think it was due more to his future political ambitions for life after his term as mayor is up, rather than a genuine change of heart.
Afterall why would anyone in their right mind join up with that east-coast, socialist mafia if they didn't at least share a majority of common views?
