on the ruger single acvtion revolvers that are chambered for calibers like 9mm and 45 acp. do they use the moon clips or is the little egde thingy inside the cylinder holes that catches the case on its way down?
So technical! Thanks for asking that question cause I always wondered too... moon-clips seem like kinda a pain and I was thinking about a .45 revolver.

Moonclips are only needed for double action revolvers and they are just for ejection of the cases. The case headspaces on the case mouth just like a semi-auto's chamber. On a single action revolver the ejector punches the case out no matter if it has a rim or not.
