I'm just posting to pass some time.

It's absolutely nerve wracking waiting for those final minutes to tick off,,,
Who is gonna click a mouse and bushwhack my bid at the last second.

I'm not in those last seconds yet,,,
But I am in the last 1 Hr & 12 minutes.

Bidding on a nice Lady Smith in .38,,,
I don't have one and this one is still low priced.

Anyone else have a bid in on a good fieryarm?

And that wouldnt be bad.. if the auction didnt keep getting 15 min. longer each time... or on GB thats how it is anyway.

Yeah, that's a real drag,,,

I spent 3 hours extra one time trying to buy a spiffy little Colt snubbie one time,,,
The only satisfaction I got was that I made the other guy pay through the nose to win the auction.
That could have turned out bad for me,,,
If I had won the auction I would have overpaid a lot.

Now that I think of it,,,
Maybe that's what inflates prices,,,
Just one guy trying to cost another some extra money.

36 minutes left,,,

This is my second auction today,,,

I'm not rich but I am single,,,
And I got a good tax return this year.

Earlier today I won the auction on this Colt Trooper Mk III in .22 LR,,,
I bought it to go with my other trooper Mk III in .357 Magnum.

This is the one I really wanted,,,
And dang-it, so did someone else as well,,,
I over-paid for it but it's what one has to do to fill a collection list.

I grew up in a house where my parents were resellers and antique dealers,,,
They would laugh at me if they knew I succumbed to "auction fever".

The Lady Smith will be a neat little gun to own,,,
And even shoot every now and then.

But it will probably be one I make a case and holster for,,,
And peddle to someone else after a year or so.

So If someone else starts bidding on it at the last minute,,,
I'll probably let this one go after two small raises.

23 minutes left.

That's one thing I like about eBay - fixed ending times. So I just decide up front the absolute maximum I'm willing to pay and set up a bid "snipe" for the last 2-3 seconds of the auction. The sniping service enters the lowest amount that will beat out the previous high bidder's maximum proxy bid (up to my maximum) right as the auction ends.

That way, if I get outbid because the other bidder's proxy bid was higher than my maximum, I don't have time to get into a peeing contest, since the auction's already over.

Well, I got it,,,

And that's the last of my good tax return for this year,,,
I squeaked 3 new handguns out of it this time,,,
I think I did fairly good by myself.

Later my friends,,,
I got some e-mails to write to get my new toys.
