I had instore credit at a gunstore for almost two whole days!

This last week I got some instore credit at a local gunstore from trading, and some work I did for the owner. It was a pretty good amount of money, and I promised myself that I wouldn't rush into any hasty purchases. I was going to plan it all out and only buy the things that I really needed.

HAH!

That lasted two whole days. I went into the store yesterday to special order a .223 Tikka Whitetail Hunter for my wife. With that accomplished, I started setting aside ammo and various supplies, thinking the entire time, "Ok, I don't really want anything here, I'm just going to hold off and wait until I know exactly what I want." I told her to hold two cases of Hirtenberger .308 for me and started to wander around.

Then I noticed some white and green boxes in the corner with Cyrillic writing on them. After looking at them for a minute, I had to go back and scratch a case of Hirt off of my order.

Next thing I know I'm taking home my new Vepr II carbine in 7.62x39. :D Boy I didn't expect that. I made the mistake of holding it. What a nice AK! This thing is goregous. This is my first AK, and I wasn't even aware that I wanted one that bad, but boy, this thing is one good looking rifle. :)

I'll have a chance to shoot it tomorrow morning. I will give a full report.

And my wife will be getting a Tikka for Christmas.

So much for my credit. I guess I'm kind of odd for an accountant, since I spend my hard earned money so easily. :p

Happy Thanksgiving!

You sound like my friend who worked at a campus-area used CD shop. He occasionally snagged a few of the more unique titles when the came in (as in, staff got first dibs on the stock. We're not talking theft). One week he worked full time and ended up owing the owner a few bucks. :D

He had a GREAT music collection, however. :D
