Last saturday my gunsmith called and told me that the Streamlight TRL 1 weaponlight I had ordered came in. I told him I worked the weekend and would be in on tuesday.
I showed up eagerly to get my sweet light, as the cheapo NC Star weaponlight I already had was not cutting it for me. It is not too bad but the fit and brightness are worlds apart in the two. It fits my EAA EZ40 like it is part of the frame and the brightness is amazing!!
Last time I was in his shop he had a model 10 like the one I already have but cleaner. I have been talking with him about customizing one of the m10's for conceal carry by taking it down to a 3 inch and bobbing the hammer. To my disapointment the other model 10 was gone, but something caught my eye that I have always known that I would eventually own.
So I put some money down on a stainless 638-3 airweight for my ultimate backup pistol of all time. It has the hammer that you can still cock and yet it works awesome for pocket carry because the hammer is flush with the frame. It has a sweet DA trigger and comes NIB with 2 grips. I am very exited as this is my first Airweight and also my first revolver with a non exposed hammer for pocket carry and smooth draws!!!
All in all a good day, and now I am anticipating next month when I will have the new CC payed off. The only problem is I still am going ahead with the customization of my model 10, so I STILL need a nicer 4'' to replace it on rotating night stand duty.
