I got to play with a Glock carbine today....

Well, it used Glock mags at least. These were the Ruger 9mm and .40 'camp' carbines that have, up until now, only been able to take Ruger mags. The one I got to play with was the Ruger PC40, but they also have converted the PC9. The conversion allows the use of Glock mags in the Ruger rifle and if you don't have the converted and unconverted side by side to compare it is hard to see what has been done. Orders are backed up for police departments that are armed with Glocks right now, but should be available for the rest of us in late December or sometime in January. Beautiful job too. Of the rifles tested the 9mm seems to be more accurate with best 100 yard groups at 1.5". The best .40 groups run 2.5". I am sure that this will vary somewhat with individual rifles due to quality of the barrel and the trigger. Mine will be delivered to the Tulsa gun show on April 7 with a Haako heads up sight, unless I can get to a Houston show in Jan or Feb.

Ummm... Jeff. Who does this work? What does it cost? Do they have a website? Don't leave us hangin', amigo.

Sorry about that. The conversion can be done if you already own a PC for less than $200, I think it was $169 or $189. He would not quote a price for a complete rifle because none are available at this time with the police orders and he does not want to bound in the event of a Ruger price increase at the first of the year. The guy that has them is Vern at www.vernsguns.com
