Hey Guys this is my first post so plese bear with me. 2 months ago My dad bought me a mossberg 500 combo with a rifled canteliver barrel and a bushnell 3by9by 40 scope. We were never able to get it zeroed this cost me a 100 dollars worth of sabots with bad results and it caused me to miss my first buck an 8 pointer. However I did get my first deer a doe at 60 yds with my 1187 with bead sights and a brenneke slug. I was just wondering if any of you mossberg guys have found it hard to zero your guns. By the way I was shooting the new remington 2and3/4 copper solids. What kind of groups do yo guys shot with your mossbergs, I shot a 2 inch 3 shot group at 50 yds but I just couldnt get them to shift into the black area of the target. Good news is that a really experienced friend Is going to help me zero soon.

Thanks a lot for all responses and have a great new year.

First of all get rid of the 3-9x40mm scope. Don't put a rifle scope on a shotgun. A shotgun is a close range proposition - even with a rifled barrel. Put a 4x shotgun or blackpowder scope on it and try again. A rifle scope has the parallex set for 100 to 150 yds. where a shotgun/blackpowder scope is set for 75 yds. Parallex is the ability of the picture in the scope to shift positions when your eye is not directly in line with the scope.

Thanks mtnboomer any other ideas guys?

Any other ideas guys. Have any of you moosberg guys had trouble with cooper solids or zeroing your guns. What size groups do you guys usually shoot.

Thanks again,
