I went and picked up my S&W, 6". 357 Magnum and N frame revover today. I think it arrived by dogsled. NEAT is the only wprd. I turned around to my FFLs grip display and spied a pair of wood N frame grips too. Pachmayr Presentation and wood grips for this revolver. It was not as described though, it was better than I expected. I do wonder what you are using for N frame sights though? I am thinking a Partridge blade with a brass bead front sight. Millets, S&W RWO or ? for a rear sight?

Greetings El Dirty Dog,
Wish you'd been able to find that article.
Mine has a Hi-Vis lightpipe up front & a slightly deepened rear S&W blade. Works for me.
Round butted. Spegel grips. Metaloy finish. Action job.
One of my finest revolvers, sighted in for 180s at 25 yards.
They're well worth spending money on.

I saw some kind of ivory bead Partridge blade sights recently on a 629. I really thought they were sharp and easy to see/acquire. I am simply thinking I should standardize my adjustable sighted revolvers.

Hey Sir William...

Check your email; I found a number of 66s and a 67. I still need to get more info on them, and I emailed you a couple questions that'll help me nail down candidate pistols.

OK. Where do I find gold bead Partridge blades? I am still shaping my wood grips. I got the basic shape done and the checkering laid out. The M28-2 is wearing the Pachmayrs for now. I might spring for a set of Eagle faux ivory grips.

I'm not sure you can, but I think Brownells sells the beads & your local gunsmith should be able to install it in a Patridge blade for you.
I never had much interest in gold beads till C&S did one on my PPK/S & a Ruger GP100 for me.
Happy New Year!

Hello:
I also like my 28-2 with these grips.. Hammer It.

Sir William,
I'm sure you'll enjoy the M-28. Mine gets carried about in a Bianchi Cyclone holster as it's finish just screams, take me out and use me.
They're really a workhorse gun and I can see how a state trooper would have been assured by it's presence on a lonely back road traffic stop.
Mine came with those ugly grips too but I finally changed them for some handsome wood ones. Now if I can only find that elulsive M-58. :)
