I got my christmas present today!

I got a 303 British, finished in the weirdest finish I have ever seen. Though it makes for something I doubt will ever see again. I LOVE IT it is my second gun. My first gun was a Iver Johnson 12 gauge, one of the nicest shootin shotguns I have shot. I just thought I would let everyone know that I got christmas in October. BTW, the finish on the gun is like a solid black with white specks. It had a simmions scope mounted already, and it seemed to be sighted fairly well. It is a nice shootin gun.

Well the British was actually his Christmas present and the reason he got it early was he wants to go deer hunting so Slinger and I decided to do Christmas early. The Iver really was Slingers gun but the son took and sanded on the stock and sanded down the barrel to get ready to blue it and he decided he would take it over to, so at this point of deciding, what do you do but say son I guess its your gun. :)

Congrats on a great present. Here's a sincere wish for many a fine hour in the field and at the range. A gun, finished by your own hands, is one to be proud of. I remember a thread some time ago asking "Are you proud to be a gun owner", or words to that effect. My stance then as now is that pride comes from accomplishment, and not just ownership. From the sound of your post, it's clear you can see the difference.

'slinger and terri, you have a lot to be proud of too.
