I do like a lot of wood...

Beautiful guns everybody,
Too bad Ruger stopped doing the 77 International models.

Is that a Fajen stock on that M1? I have very nice one for an old Arisaka, kinda like a $5000.00 set of custom wheels on an 78 Ford Granada!;)

I have a fondness for Mannlicher stocks too. I have a Ruger International Model chambered in .308 Winchester and a Ruger 10-22 with the full length stock. I used to own a Steyr Zephyer bolt-action rifle with a Mannlicher stock, chambered in .22rf, before selling it in a foolish moment.

I only have one. I was working on a mobile home and the ladt next door came over to see what I was doing. We talked for a bit and I asked her if her family liked to shoot since there were targets set up in the yard. She said they and I told her I liked to shoot also. She said she had a ruger 10/22 stock she wanted to sell, was I interested? I said let me see it.

So she went home and in a couple of minutes came back with a green laminated stock for a 10/22. I wanted it but didn't have much on me. How much I asked. Twenty five dollars and she acted like I would laugh at her. I had $25 on me and couldn't wait to get her paid.

Wow what a stock. It is just ate up in cool.

I love full length stocks. Yet, I don't own a single one.

I really, really, REALLY considered it for the current Dumoulin .270 Win build, but I had to swallow some pride and admit that my stock shaping skills are not up to handling a full length stock ...yet. ;)

Ideally, I'd like that .270 to eventually have a "British Sporting Rifle" style look around the action and at the butt, combined with the Mannlicher style full length fore-end.

I have been fortunate enough to have owned both a 550FS in 06 and it's little brother, the 452 full stocked .22---absolutely loved them both---should have kept the .22 as I'm looking for another right now----my only complaint with the 30-06 was the unbelievably long cool down time, three carefully spaced and timed shots at the 100 yard range and I had to wait forever for it to cool down again. I used to take at least three rifles, one of them a .22 to shoot while the 06 cooled down---I have to say though that it was super accurate.

every time I see that BRNO and that number 1 I get extremely jealous. I wish I had to money to commission somebody that know's what their doing to make a nice version of the BRNO in a short action centerfire.
