I did something bizarre today,,,
I searched for all of my posts on TFL,,,
Then I went back to the first one and started reading.

I went through exactly 45 pages of posts,,,
Eventually I want to read them all,,,
That's 6,947 post as of today.

Not to defend or excuse anything I wrote in the past,,,
But my thinking has certainly changed in 4 years and 7 months.

It wasn't so much that the years have made me more savvy,,,
So much as how my attitudes have shifted over the years,,,
It was almost like I was reading stuff by another person.

I mean, at one time I was seriously considering buying a Hi-Point C9,,,
It's a good thing that I wised up and bought their 995TS carbine instead. :p

But seriously good folk,,,
What an eye opener this is proving to be.

And seriously a bit of fun.

I haven't read all of your posts but in the ones I have read, you come across as a nice, sincere guy that enjoys shooting and teaching others to shoot.

Microgunner expounded ....
No, bizarre would've been if you'd reread your posts while eating turnips in the nude.
Wow Micro, I would never have thought up with such a unique definition. :D

I didn't really have the time either,,,

I didn't really have the time either,,,
But I work at a Help Desk kind of thing,,,
If my phone doesn't ring I get a bit bored here.

I read another couple hundred posts this morning,,,
It's almost like watching yourself evolve.

There was a time when I thought my SP-101 was the ultimate revolver.

Gives me chills to think of that.

I'd be afraid to look through all of the potentially dumb things I've said on this forum over the years. You are a brave man. I also have enjoyed your words here, but am still struggling to find a rhyme in any of your poetry. :D

I certainly haven't read all my old posts but I did read a few, back a couple of months, looking for an old thread I created that I thought was pretty funny. (I still think it's pretty funny. Search Glockourettes Syndrome if you want to read it).

It certainly is enlightening. A mere 6 years ago, I was one of those "Which first handgun?" newbs.:D

Aarond, I haven't read all your posts either but I can safely say that you are an asset to the forum and the shooting community. I'm glad to have you around for 6,950 posts and counting.;)

Aarond, your posts are informative, and something in your writing about the way you teach young people to shoot is soothing and pleasing to read.

That your views have evolved over time is only natural.

You may be able to conjure, in your mind's eye, an image of a 1960s-era BSA or Triumph motorcycle, specifically the primary case where the primary chain and the clutch live. Years ago a professor was trying to get me to explain why I had so much trouble writing, and I told her I didn't want to write what I thought - because I might change my mind. She asked me what I thought it meant to change my mind, and I described taking out all those socket head capscrews around the perimeter of my skull (like the BSA primary case cover), tapping it with a plastic mallet to break the seal, lifting it off (being careful to avoid loosing too much lubricant), replacing the worn/chipped gears, a new gasket, reinstall the cover (skull), and the screws, torquing them to the value in the book. She did not understand the details but got the point - and she said to me, "See! You think it is a big deal to change your mind - but people do it all the time, it is not a big deal!"

There is no need to defend or excuse one's previous posts or positions or thoughts. It is what you thought then; and then is then. Now, people are interested in reading what you think now.

I searched Glockourettes Syndrome,,,

That was a hoot!
The entire series of posts.

Some of you guys should freelance for gun rags.
