I did it.

After a lot of hemming and hawing, I finally plunked down the cash for a Ruger MkII.

Now here it sits looking all pretty in it's stainless steel and bull barrel. Begs to be shot, but I'm waiting for that special day.

Great quality. Wonderful sights. Shiny.

My first SS gun. My first .22 pistol. Gotta love it. Gotta fondle it.

Vaughn T, Congrat's on your excellent choice
of a .22 caliber weapon. You have chosen one
fine, semi-automatic handgun that in some case's, may out-shoot the shooter!!! :(

Now you need to go get a 10/22 rifle to go along with that pistol.

Got a scope on mine and I was hitting the tiny size fishing bobbers at 125 yards with every shot.

Now thats fun!

Get a bushnell holosight for you mkII, take rest and you'll be able to hit tiny fishing bobbers with a pistol...perhaps not at 125 yards but you'll be surprised at how far your accuracy will extend.

Ala Dan, what do you mean, "...may outshoot"? This is me we're talking about. Of course it will out shoot me!

I'm very glad you all approve of the choice. I was going to buy a 22/45, but that plastic grip was simply too much like a watergun/glock for my tastes.

Overall, I'm impressed with the weapon so far. It's fit and finish is impressive and any rough spots I figure will wear out as the gun wears in. I'll no for sure after about 5000 rounds. Of course, getting to that 5k mark is gonna be lots of fun. :D

I think I'd better visit with my brother and do some showin' off (he has a nasty Magnum Research Mountain Eagle .22).

I'll be sure to post his thoughts.

Whatever you do, don't disassemble it until after you have fun with it! If you do, you might dislike it before you fire round #1.

Aw, disassembley is a piece o' cake. It's getting the "tilt" right on reassembley that can be a mite frustrating... the first couple of times, at least. :)

VaughnT - Congrats! Mine doesn't have the bull barrel, but it is one rugged take anywhere pistol. Its preferred diet is CCI Blazer or Mini-Mag ammo. Have fun and enjoy!
