There is a woman in her 50's that works with me. She has been worried about getting attacked. We have quite a few wanna-be gangbangers in town. Now, the town I live in won't tolerate these kind of people, so I imagine it is a temporary thing. Back to what I did.....I have been suggesting it for months.....Finally I made her do it. We went to the local gun shop and she walked out with a Pre-sellout S&W Model 10 Snubbie (38 Special). I figured the 38 would be perfect at her age and with her arthritis. I know it is a terrible thing that I have done. Aside from my family, all of you at TFL are all of the family I have. Do you think you can find it in your hearts to forgive me? :(

For perpetrating such an awful deed your gonna go straight to Heaven! Now make sure that woman knows how to use her new found sense of security.

Forgiveness will come after you have taken that young lady out for some safety and shootin.

If you have already done so, then bless you my son for you have truly done good.

Sam...If it ain't broke, let me at it and it will be.

Bob--- Age and deceit will overcome youth and speed.
I'm old and deceitful.

Did you forget to buy the lady any practice and defense ammo? Where do we send the cartridges? Make sure she shoots up a couple of boxes to start. You did the right thing, now let her know how the UN wants her constitutional rights taken away in the interest of WorldPeace. ;)

We got her a box of UMC 130gr FMJ to go with it for now. The Hydro-Shoks are kind of expensive in town. I'll see what I can pick up on my next trip to Las Cruces for her. As for practice, she didn't want to go shooting today. She has a busy afternoon planned. We will probably do it next Wednesday. (Our store closes early on Wednesdays.)

Terrible, terrible, terrible....only one?

But I'll give ya some raisin pie and a slap on the back anyhow....just don't let it happen again. Make 'em get a snubbie and maybe an auto so it don't get lonely. :)

Good for you... and her. But I strongly suggest, especially with a snub nose, to start her out on 148 gr wadcutters!! If she's not a shooter, I hope you have her run a "bunch" of rounds, before moving her to the self defense stuff.

FWIW. J.B.

About the only thing I can fault you for is that it is a S&W. Even pre sellout. However, you completely redeemed yourself by helping another US citizen exercise their wonderful rights guaranteed by our constitution.

Go and sin some more....

Well done.

Get her to the range so that she can practice on a weekly basis. Teach her safety and teach her how to hit her target.

good for you, make sure she is going to the range or wherever she can to practice once in awhile.

I don't mind. It is also in my profile. I am in Truth or Consequences, NM. Yes, it is a real city. It used to be called Hot Springs, NM.

Hehehe, cool. Don't you just love towns named after 1950's game shows? :) j/k. I went to school up the road in Soccoro, nice to see some "neigbors" on the board.

Nope.. Not gonna forgive ya.. That is, not until you take her to the range and insure she gets proper training and is confident in the weapon.. Until then, you're in deep kimshi.. :D

Don't worry, you will be forgiven.

Ok you are forgiven in my eyes and elevated to hero.

Good for you and now that you are responsible for her owning a pistol, it is up to you to make sure that she is safe and compentant with it. She is now a gun owner and she should be an NRA member, if you want to be a real champ, pay for her first years membership. Hey its just a thought... :)

How does a used S&W from a dealer that doesn't deal new S&W help S&W?
