Thanks for all of your great replies to my earlier posts. I have decided that I'll buy the Colt Trooper MK III. It should be a fun gun to shoot and should last me for a long, long time.

Thanks again to all of you.

Todd

Enjoy!

BoneDigger,

Congrats on yor new Colt Trooper! Look, I didn't mean to scare you with my post about parts and finding people to work on your Colt Revolver; I have a fondness for Colt revolvers.
For any work the Trooper will eventually need, just contact Colt in Conn., nad send it to them. Thier rates and turn-around times are reasonable. i know, because I spoke to them just 48 hours ago about working on my Detective Special. Now, get some good jacketed .38 Sp. practice ammo and have fun!! I expect, no I DEMAND a full report in less than a week :)

Respectfully,
Larry C.

Congrats! That's one of the few Colt models that interest me. That and a Colt SA will be in my safe one day. Good luck with it. :)

I had one and sold it. wish I didn't! this was back in the early 90s and still today is the most accurate revolver I have ever owned.

Good luck with your gun! I bet she is a keeper.

BoneDigger let us know how she does. A friend of mine had one back in the 70's. It shot very well and I told him he should keep it but he let it go.

The 357 is a good all round cartridge and will handle most needs one will encounter. If I remember Askins had a M-27, Jordan had a M-19, Skeeter had a M-27, and now BoneDigger's got a Mk III. These guys, especially the latter two shot those two models better than anything they had because they stayed at it. Bet a bucket of chubs you'll love the Colt.

I bought a well cared for Trooper MKIII recently with 6 inch barrel and love it!! It is very accurate, easy to shoot and a most handsome gun. Its action is butter smooth. There seems to be a fair number on the market now. I always felt the MkIII was overshadowed by the Python and deserves more attention.

You made a great choice! Enjoy!

Lou

See the attached from the auction for my gun.
