9x25 Dillon barrel for my Glock G29. :p

I've been thinking about it for months because I wanted to try it and never could justify buying it so I said heck with it I'm getting it.

So there! Now I can get some sleep.

So there's some advantages of 9x25 vs 10mm, both has the power of the 357 Magnum which is known as an excellent man stopper but the 9x25 has the flatter trajectory and an easier recoil. That would be better for SD.

Now I have the LWD barrel in shipment and some Underwood ammo coming as well, 50 rnds of 125 FMJ and two 20 rnds of 124 XTP.

I dont know much about 9x25, but i would like to learn what it can do with heavier bullets. It seems kind if pointless to me to run light bullets in front of so much power. I am assuming you dont reload, but i bet that caliber would be really sweet with 158-180gr bullets.

We have 135 to 220 with 10mm and some 9x25 are available with 180 but why? 124 and 158 are readily available like the 357.

The 9x25 was made with the power of 357 Magnum in mind. In some guns the 9x25 are more powerful than the 357.

What makes it interesting is that the 9x25 uses rifle powder.

I am just a heavier is better kind of guy, i think a 180gr HP would be alot more effective than a lighter projectile, and for woods use you would definitely prefer a heavier bullet.

Didn't Mauser make a 9x25 back in the very early 1900's?
As I recall my grandfather had one in a Mauser pistol. It was a straight case round, not a bottle-neck and fired FMJ of some weight.

The 9x25 Dillon is a pretty old cartridge that might be coming into its own finally. It does not use rifle powder unless you consider heavy pistol and shot shell powders as rifle powders. I would think that H110 would be a good powder in it but I can't find any data on it. Maybe it doesn't have the powder space required.

but the 9x25 has the flatter trajectory
Is "flatter trajectory" really a SD concern? Not at any reasonable SD range.
A bigger, heavier bullet that might hit a fraction of an inch lower, if that, @ 10 yards is in my opinion a better choice.

I guess not but anyway, I went to the range today. Turned out I need a heavier recoil spring. That Uw 9x25 got a brutal recoil.

Sure hate to be on the business end of it.
