I bought the Benelli...

Slugo

was looking at a nice LNIB one, but it had a 28" barrel. So, wanting a 30" gun, I had to add a few bucks to the pot for a new one. Ordered it yesterday, should be in by mid-week. My 725 needed a 12 gauge partner... :D

TKM, my local FFL picked up six promo guns from one of his distributers, this is one of them. I had the choice between the black (fake Kevlar) Super Sport, or the satin walnut shod Sport II, same guns. Never turn down wood for plastic, unless you're a Navy Seal...

Enjoy Slugo. I had an old HK imported Black Eagle Competition that later morphed into the Legacy. Not the lightest shooting gun, but not bad by any means either. Easy to clean also.

While I much prefer wood stocked guns, if it were the same price I think I would have gone for the synthetic stocked SS simply due to the replaceable comb inserts.

Supersport pluses.....snap in and out comb inserts, snap in and out recoil pads...and Comfort Tech recoil supression system...( and fake carbon fibre graphics on it )....:D

But I hope you like it anyway ....:D

Let us know how you like it. I was looking at one of those myself at a local shop (only had the synthetic stock/fore-end).

So what kind of a deal did you get on a promo gun? I assume that means a demonstrator taken to gun shows and the like by reps.

yes, the gun was used for one round of clays, 50 targets, then cleaned and put back in the hard case. Got it for $1140 delivered. I'm real happy... :D

$ 1,140 ....delivered --- with Tax ...etc ....:eek: ....for a gun that lists at $ 1,799 .....

did you have to close your eyes, and leave the cash under a crate in a dark alley ...when you picked it up ......( you stole that puppy ) ...!

Congratulations ....for that money, you should have asked him if he had 2 or 3 more ....../ and shared with your buddies....

Jim, no sales tax across state lines. There's $125 right there. And, it was a cash deal, no credit card charge, another $22.50. Seller was happy to rid himself of the gun, because of the satin walnut finish. 75% of all Benelli buyers opt for the more popular ugly black ducklings...

State of Washington passed a law ....we have to pay WA state sales tax on purchase price / and seller has to give FFL a copy of the invoice in the shipment....when we buy out of state and have it shipped into state.

I don't really care ...it protects the local dealers / but its good that you don't have to pay it.

California FFL's used to look the other way. No longer and I don't blame them. They don't like playing tax collectors, but if if the state audits the FFL he or she will have to pay the sales tax out of his or her own pocket and will likely lose their license - even if all they did was receive shipment of and register a gun bought outside of the state.
