Well, I visited my local gun shop today and walked out with a gun some of you may not care too much for.....
I went ahead and picked up a new Taurus PT-145. As some of you may know, this is the small polymer semiauto with a 11 round capacity of 45 ACP. I really like the looks of it. I have not yet shot it, but I plan to soon. I'll list the pros and cons I have noticed so far.....
Pros:
- 11 rounds of 45 ACP in a very small semiauto package. A great pocket gun for CCW.
- Fits my hand really good. Feels like a small version of my Sig 229.
- While it is a DAO only gun, this one has a "1911 style" safety unlike my G19c.
- Feels solid and looks "mean", no rattles or loose fitting parts anywhere.
Cons:
- A pain to reassemble after dissambly. Note: prehaps there is a trick that I am not aware of to get the gun back together as effortlessly as my 92FS.
- A few very minor marks/scratches on the slide.
- Trigger pull is a bit long, but I don't predict that to be a problem for me.
Overall:
I guess I bought this gun based on its size, caliber, and looks. I don't expect it to be as top quality as my Sig 229, but it didn't cost nearly that much either. I do expect it to be a great CCW gun, and a nice addition to my collection.
Stay tuned as that 454 Raging Bull is comming soon!
