Is there anthing specifically I should look for?

The LGD is asking $439.00 for it. The only thing I know about it so far is that it has fiber optic front site, adj rear, and two 17rd mags.

Nothing specific. It is a Glock, so as long as it is in acceptable shape, get it. Be warned though, that model is designed for competition so it may have a ton of rounds through it. That isn't necessarily a bad thing as long as it has been taken care of. That is a pretty fair price for that model. Just be sure that it locks up fairly tight and inspect the slide and frame rails. Everything else is easy to replace if needed.

Good topic

I'm in the same boat and was thinking about a Glock 34 when I noticed a few Glock 17L's floating around. Any reason to get one over the other?

The 17L is a little longer in slide length. IIRC, the 17, 17L, and 34 share the same frame.

The 34 fits into the IDPA 'box' and is competition legal; the 17L is too long.

Both are generally very accurate and soft shooting.
