Sorry I was gone so long. Lost 4 computers at the same time. I have been rebuilding the systems and should have both of my web sites up and running in a few days. Here we go again. Below is a photo of the op-rod on the M1 Garand. As you can see the Piston is getting a special hardening. What other part of the op-rod received a special hardening and why?? Have fun with this one.
