I admit it, I want to cheat on my other handguns

I was in the local gun shop yesterday, looking for a Springfield Loaded .45, when I stumbled across a .40 SIG. Now I've read a great deal about SIG handguns and the .40 S&W cartridge, and I was fairly impressed with both. But after I handled (fondled?) that SIG, it made me want to cheat on my other handguns. I'm married to single action, semi-automatic handguns, but I want to date a double action on the side. I'm no big fan of other DA handguns, but the SIG, well, it just seems like a contemporary classic. Function is more important than form, but dang, the SIGs are nice pieces. It felt SOOOO good in my hands. I want a new 1911 .45, but I'm lusting after this SIG. It that sick, twisted, and wrong to go from a single action to a double action pistol?

Look, it's best to confront these urges. Spend some time with the Sig, get to know it. Maybe you'll see it's an infatuation, maybe it's the real thing and you and your SAs have just grown apart. Either way, it's best to get it out of your system or to face reality.

Of course, if you get caught fooling around, just tell the SAs "I may shoot the Sig, but I DEFEND with you!"

Keep your D@mn hands off my girl!!! I saw your profile and you're from the my state and I just know you are trying to edge in on my dear beautiful Sig.

Oh, sorry, I just realized you saw the Sig in a shop. :) Mine is safe at home(I keep her locked up, can't trust the girl), but if you want to fondle mine before you buy your own, be my guest. ;) She must be a regular tramp the way my friends keep pawing her. :D

Just one warning, once you get your hands on a Sig, your old SAs won't be able to handle the competition.

PS Which Sig caught your eye?

Once you've been lured by the wiley charms of the Sig, all your previous loves will be abandoned to collect dust in the safe. At least you're not looking in lust at a Glock! Great guns, but god are they ugly! BTW, which model sig are you flirting with? I have a 220, and I abandoned my 1911 for it. I don't even feel guilty.

For the record, I was looking at a P229 in .40 S&W, but I think would rather get a P220 with the .45 ACP. There is something about big... bullets that just "cranks my tractor".

Thought the p226 was the same grip as the p220. It did not feel the same. In my hands the P226 felt a lot better than the P220. Don't have the P226 so I had to feel from memory. Does anybody have both?

Be careful! The SIG could turn out to be just a tawdry fling! I had relationships with a Sig 225, 220 and 232... I have come home to roost with the 1911s.

Been There. Done That. Got the T-Shirt.

Same old sad story. Boy meets pistol, boy and pistol fall in love, then boy meets younger more glamorous pistol that turns his head. When will it ever end? :(

just make sure the SIG is a black one so it will hide in the dark corners of your favorite range with you. don't fall for the one with the platinum coloured slide--i hear it's a dye-job.

Take the long way home...

Don't do it, son. She's just a cheap hussy with a lot of frills, she'll play with you awhile then lead you to ruin. Go back to your one true love...she's stood faithfully by you all those years. You can't cheat on her now you scondrel.

I think we all need to see a gun shrink?
