HXP

Real quick question: I recently aquired some surplus .30 HXP dated mostly 77-78 but between 63-83. All 30-06 headstamped HXP is non-corrosive right?

You hope it is!

Look at it like this, if it isn't American made treat it as if it's corrosive! I've seen stuff made in the 80's that was tested and made the test metal start to rust!

There's nothing wrong with shooting corrosive primed ammo, just be sure to clean accordingly. That means every single part that gets coated from shooting. Barrel, bolt, chamber, receiver, mags....

HXP is...

- Non-corrosive
- Very accurate
- inexpensive
- Boxer primed
- Excellent brass

... other than that I wouldn't touch the stuff. ;)

It might and depending on how deep the corrosion is on the brass... don't shoot those as it may split when you pull the trigger. Best to toss them or pull them down and reuse the bullet.
