Husqvarna mauser scope clearance

My brother bought a Burris Fullfield II scope for his Husqvarna deer rifle.
This is a mauser style rifle with the safety on the back of the bolt assembly. I think it is called a wing safety.

Well the new scope doesn't clear the safety. He is using very tall see-through rings. I think they are the Leupold rings.

What setup is usually done to put a scope on these rifles? He had a 4x on it that was short enough, but it didn't match the capabilities of the 270 Win.
Is there a mount that can move the scope forward enough? He would need longer eye relief in that case.

Can he get it modified to a sporter safety like the Timney in my Parker Hale? What parts/modifications/cost are involved. I hate to see the rifle cut up, but it is a hunting rifle, not a safe gun.

There are many wing safety replacements made for Mauser rifles, but the Husqvarna is not a Mauser, strictly speaking. If he can find a replacement Mauser safety and see if it will fit, then it may be possible to get it installed.

I don't know. As far as I can tell it is a Mauser 98 with Husqvarna markings.

The stock is a dark walnut look.

It's been hunting in Kodiak.

I think it is a typical sporterized Mauser 98, but the sporterizing stopped short of a sporter safety.

I took a look at Brownells and Midway USA. I see bolt shrouds with no wing safety provision to be used with the Timney trigger with mounted safety. I also see bolt shrouds with the model 70 style safety. I am guessing the model 70 route would be one new part, the trigger mounted safety sporter would be 2 parts. Not sure what machine work and other parts would be needed. I imagine the stock would have to be opened up for the safety to clear for the trigger-mounted safety.

It doesn't look like the HVA or 1640.

Reading up in Wikipedia: Husqvarna used FN M98 actions.

He decided to keep it stock. He has a fixed power scope to use.

He got an 8pt with it last Saturday.

BURRIS stopped making their short mag scopes. Anybody else have a short scope with extended eye relief?

A Timney Buehler style safety will fix the problem. They run about 40 bucks.

A DT Mk2 safety would probably fix the problem as well, and they run 20 bucks, but they sometimes require a little more fitting to function.
