I have a chance to buy a husqvarna .270 that is in very good condition. The current owner thinks it was built in1961. I think he's asking a little to much, any info on the approx. Value of a gun like that would be greatly appreciated! Its a bolt action, not sure of barol length, old redfield scope.

What is he asking? I figure most old Mauser 98 bolt actions are worth at least $300 and up depending on condition of the rifle. Are you going to buy this to use hunting or for a donor action to build something else? The old Redfield can be worth some money if it was a made in Denver.
We are going to need a lot more information to give you an approximate value and see if you can get some pictures. There should be a model number as well somewhere that will help. Husqvarna built a lot of different rifles and some of them are on M96 actions as well which will have a lot to do with the price. I know I woulnd't want a high pressure cartridge on a 96 action but they did build some in .270 and .30-06.
Then of course you are going to have to ask yourself how badly do you want the rifle?

i had the same gun about 5 years ago sold it, it never shot consistent. Sold it for

Those 60-s through 70's Husqvarna .270's & .30-06's were built on a proprietary Small Ring Mauser 98 action, usually with either a 20" or 23" barrel (I had 23" .30-06's), in four different stock styles, from Euro & "classic", to "weatherby" style, with monte carlo comb, etc.
I wouldn't sell one TODAY, for one cent less then $400, and would most likely be able to get a tad more from another fan.
BTW - IMHO, an "old Redfield scope" is three times the scope that modern junque passes for - especially if it's the classic 2x7 variable.

Husqvarna Model A in 270 Win
I have a "Smith and Wesson" Husqvarna Model A in 270 Win. It has iron sights but no scope mounted.
Does anyone Know what mounts would be needed to install a 50mm Barska Huntmaster scope on this rifle?
Also, the stock is unfinished although the wood and checkering are nice. Any idea what the gun (some rust spots) might be worth? It appears to have never been fired.

I've never come across a S&W Husky with an unfinished stock - is it simply a low-gloss finish, or do you think it was stripped ?
IIRC, scope bases for a Rem 700 were correct, but that 50mm obj lens scope will most likely need high rings.
I had my best success via taking the barreled action around to a few gunsmiths and/or gunshops that have those merchandising boxes filled with dozens of different Weaver bases, and asking to try to match up a few (hole spacing & tops of the bases lever with each other).
Most usually agree, since if I find a set that matches, I'll buy it (priced usually under $10, it doesn't pay them to bother looking for you)

FWIW, Keg, Husqvarna's are not considered "commercial Mausers", even though the early ones were based on a Mauser pattern, and those "commercial Mauser" values don't pertain to them.

I will just say Husky's with mauser type actions..500 to 650 each....
