Hunting with a .357 Lever Action?

I recently purchased a .357 Lever Action with a 20" barrel. I've read that it will throw a 125 gr. bullit at around 2200 fps. Given this, would any of you use this for hunting at short range, and if so, what would you hunt and under what limitations? Also, what would you recommend as a good hunting cartridge?

All a 125 grain bullet is good for is hunting small varmints. If you want to harvest bigger game (deer, black bear), you will need a larger bullet. Something in the 180 to 200 grain range will work best. Copper, lead, flat point, hollow point, you will need to see what feeds and shoots the best in your rifle.
