Hunting holster recommendation

Guys,

I am going bowhunting hogs and want to take my S&W Model 19 .357 4" as a backup. Can anyone recommend a rig? I would like to carry on my hip, not across my chest.

Thanks all :)

sheriff-g,

Welcome. Nice to see you've become a member. I've posted your site to other members in the past. Have been to your place and you were very helpful. Might make another trip. Still a good idea to call ahead?

Thanks for the kind words and for posting to our site.

Yes, we are still doing by appointment for the store, as most of our time is committed to internet/mail order/phone sales. But it is always nice to take a break from answering emails and help a real live person! Just call us toll free at 888-538-2105 to schedule a time.

Bianchi X-15

Hello
I HAVE a Biannchi X-15 vertical drop shoulder holster. This is a SUPER holster to hunt with as it hangs UNDER your arm pit. I would sell it for 35.00 shipped if you need it.This is a very HIGH dollar holster and will last a lifetime, and is still like new. I also used it on the cousin to your gun the 66 with a 4" Barrel. P.M. Me if you are intreated, it is super comfortable, and allows easy draw in a tense situation which would be perfect for Boar hogs. Regards, Hammer It.

I would get a Bianchi belt holster such as the 5BHL (for N frames) or the equivalent for your gun and get it to wear on your weak side (choose left or right handed) so that it does not interfer with your draw. You can always go Uncle Mike nylon for the lower price which may make a lot of sense for limited use in the field.

I would get a good crossdraw holster. The two Way holster from the link posted above looks like it would keep your gun secure, out of the way but still handy.
