Hungarian or German AF?

My father, WWII vet, brought this back. I've had it in a drawer for years not wanting to get the tears from thinking about my DAD passing. Enough of that, I'm getting over it.

Hand gun marked on the left side "Femaru – Fegyver – Es Gepgyar R.T. 37M".
I've googled it and still can't make heads or tails of what I have been given.
I'd love some help.
thanks in advance,

Dean:

The slide legend you describe is seen on the 37M pistols made for the Hungarian forces, with some made for private sale. The 37M's were caliber .380. The German Air Force pieces are .32 caliber and are marked "jhv 42" or "jhv 43". The Germans called their version the "P.37(u)".
