Hs2000?

Anyone own a Croatian HS2000? I am more than likely going to buy one that is slightly used from a friend of mine. I've shot it a few times and I do like it, but I'm interested in hearing from others who have greater depth of experience with one than I.

Thanks!

Thanks Mark! This one is the actual HS, not the Springfield. My friend has one, and he bought another HS2000 used with the intention of reselling it to me, because at the time, I didn't have the $325 to get it myself, so he nabbed it for me. (what a nice friend) He will sell it to me for $325 on "layaway" if I want it. I just have to decide if I want it. I think I do, at this point, but I thought I should ask if anyone else has had any trouble with theirs. Thanks again.

Some have had troubles with extractors, mainly with cheap winchester white box ammo. I haven't. You can talk to the faithful at www.hs2000talk.com and get their impressions.

You want it. There were less than 12,000 HS's imported, so if you miss the chance at this one, you'll have to spend more money to get the new XD-9...just helping you with the justification part ;)

Great gun, the HS-2000. I picked up one when they first came out, and have had zero problems with mine. I've shot Wolf ammo through it with any hiccups where other, more expensive guns have chocked.

The HS-2000 is a nice pistol. They are a SA design with a slide mounted firing pin lock and a grip safety that blocks the sear.

They are possibly the most drop safe SA auto made.

They have a decent trigger and they are reliable and accurate.

HS-2000... Bought mine a while back. I really have enjoyed mine. pretty accurate and fun to shoot. I have put a lot of rounds through mine with a variety of ammo from winchester white box to wolf with zero problems. this is probably my favorite gun to shoot. good luck.

Sorry

The great office of the DOJ here in soCal has dropped the HS2000 from its safe list so now we cannot sell, import, trade, or lend this weapon in thhis great state.
Just checked on our DOJ list.

So I guess that means if a gun maker doesn't pay a yearly extortion fee, a gun that is exactly the same as it was the previous year is now 'unsafe'?
