HR 407

H.R. 407 mandates full reciprocity for any state CCW permit in any other state. Plus Citizens of Vermont would have full CCW rights as a holder of another state's CCW permit holder. Because Vermont does not require a citizen to obtain a permit to carry.
This bill has 23 co-sponsors is your Rep one of them?

I'll write, but every last one of my "elected representatives," except my state senator, is an anti. I think our local dog catcher is even an anti.

I am usually paranoid about asking the govt's permission to carry a gun, but I did ask my Rep to join in on this one.

Wouldn't this be another violation of the 2nd Amendment by the federal government? Only this time it would be with our blessing?

I see the benifits of such a law, but the feds technically are not supposed to make any laws that violate the 2nd. A CCL is creating a privalige out of a right. Would supporting this be like giving them permission to continue to trample the Constitution?

My rep is James McGovern. Mr. McGovern has said that the use of a firearm in defending one's life is never justified, and that private ownership of firearms should be banned.

My senators are Ted Kennedy and John Kerry.

Prozac, anyone?

Maybe you ought to ask McGovern why Kennedy has armed (allegedly with MP5's) guards around his compound...or why there is an armed state trooper acting as bodyguard.
I'd like to know the answer...

"Maybe you ought to ask McGovern why Kennedy has armed (allegedly with MP5's) guards around his compound...or why there is an armed state trooper acting as bodyguard."

Does anyone know how to find out which of our congressman and senators have armed bodyguards or, better yet, which ones have CCW's or have been deputized as US Marshalls?
It would make for great fodder for a letter to the editor.

I must once again stand in opposition to this law.

Where exactly is the authorization in the U.S. Constitution for the federal government's power in this area?

We RKBA supporters are continually making the "not constitutionally authorized" argument when the liberals try to shove one more law down our throats, why is this case any different? To get right to the point: I call support for this law hypocrisy.

Re-activiting this topic as I've just gotten a mailing from GOA asking for $$ to support this Bill. Along with the letter was a text of HR 407 and a Letter from Congressman Paul (Tx).

While I salute Congressman Paul for taking the initutive on introduceing this Bill and GOA for rallying support I can't help but think of

U.S. Constitution, Article IV, Section 2...
The citizens of each state shall be entitled to all privileges and immunities of citizens in the several states.

As I posted earlier I asked my Rep to co-sponsor this bill. Lo and behold, yesterday I received a letter stating that he has taken the advice and has done it.
My Rep is DEMOCRAT Ronnie Shows, 4th District, Mississippi. If he keeps it up I will have no reason at all to vote against him. He is a little too liberal on some things but I think we can count on his support of RKBA.
