HP Competition ... Service Rifle Attachments Question

Struggling to find anything in the rules that stipulate the use of a removable level being attached to the firearm in service rifle competition.

Does anyone have an opinion on this ?

Unless the rules have changed in the last 7 years, that looks like it would be a definite no-go on a Service Rifle.

(Granted, I know the rules have changed to allow small optics, adjustable stocks and short barrels. And I'm a Luddite who can't see why I'd want a collapsible stock and a 16" barrel on the 600 yard line.)

That's where my confusion lies ... for example, the rules surrounding scopes only speak to power and objective lense limits. I've seen levels that clamp onto scope tubes or mount directly to the rings.

I doubt you’ll get any grief in local matches. But I’m pretty sure it ain’t going to fly in a real leg match. The list of stuff allowed in the service rifle category is brief and specific.

I’d call it a match rifle, not a service rifle. You can still show up and shoot. Most of the matches you run into it won’t matter.
