I have listened to certain people (on other boards) whine for the last six years, about how Bush stole the election (of 2000). They haven't stopped
kvetching for a minute. It was beyond tiresome after the first month, let alone for the last six years.
So,
are you going to be a
kvetcher for the next two years, Greg?

Maybe you should spend your time working towards the next election? Run for office, or volunteer for your local Republican candidate, perhaps?

You will forgive me, if I take that advice with a grain of salt. It is a common tactic for the opponents of a position to offer such advice. It is a rhetorical move thats actual purpose is to shut down discussion.
Perhaps... But it is also an actual method of putting to good use your time and talent for real change.
Back to the topic at hand.
Having Hoyer chosen over Pelosi's choice (Murtha) shows us that the Democratic leadership is fractured. Pelosi does not have the powerbase to beat the party into submission. She will be hard pressed to maintain real control over the House majority.
Another sign of gridlock, IMO.
Add to this mix, that Lieberman has even said he would caucus with the Republicans in the Senate, should the Democrats stray from the center...
The signs are good that the Democrats will not be able to muster the votes, in either House, to effect their own agenda.
