howa 1500 barrel actions opinions

anyone have any experience with these actions and barrels? im thinking about getting one in 300wm but accuracy is a must. thanks
 
I have two Howa M1500 hunting rifles and they are plenty accurate enough for that. They are not in the same league as my Tikkas but it depends on what you want to do with it I guess.

I have a 300 win mag Howa. Shoots at about 1" after a new stock and bedding. She shot about 1.5" with the stock (Butler creek?) plastic stock.

That was with High-end Gawd-awful expensive Federal ammo.

I expect she can do better with hand loads - I'll find out this season.

I put her in a B&C Metalist. It took a lot of work and bedding compound because the monkeys on the assembly line got the aluminum chassis in tilted down in front.

The Houge overmolded stock with the bedding is the way I'd go if I had it to do again.
