Hey guys. I have been getting really serious into guns within the last year and I purchased my first high powered rifle this year, Howa 1500 in .243cal. It came with the Howa Hogue stock which is a nice stock but im really looking into getting the Axiom stock to put on this gun. This may seem like a dumb questions but my Howa 1500 will in the Axiom stock correct? Also I do not have a thick barrel, will that matter?

Will the M1500 fit in an Axiom Stock? Yes. I'm guessing it will be a short action, but you'll need to verify that if you don't already know.

Will a thinner barrel make a difference in stock fit? Not in the least, as the barrel is not intended to touch the stock ('free float').

Yes it will fit, But I do have to ask- Why did you not just buy it with that stock?. They offer it that way. I do not know the cost difference- So if this is a stupid question--I am sorry

I got a good deal on the rifle for $480. The axiom is $799 but I can get the axiom stock for $180 So it seemed logical to do it this way.

Haha thanks a lot. Im planning on putting that money towards a better scope and possibly a bipod. Im also looking into the detachable magazine kit for the rifle as well.

High tech specialties [Bansner] makes the stocks that go on Kimber Montana rifles. I have put them on Mausers and a Rem700. They make them for Howa rifles too.

I have a Howa 1500 with a slight crack in the stock. It shoots ok, 1.4" 5 shot group at 100 yards 270 130 gr cheap bullets.

So I am tempted to restock it.
