How would I drift a sight?

I need to drift dovetailed front sight blade of a P1914 Enflied. Would anyone have suggestions on how to do that by a controlled amount (1mm) without damaging the gun?

Brownells sells sight pushers. The gun sits in a cradle and the pusher, which contacts the sight, is screwed in until the desired amount of drift is achieved. I think you could make one pretty easily with the right machine screws and nuts if you built your own cradle and covered the machine screw with nylon or other no-mar coating where it contacts the sight.
