How to tighten up a old gun ?

Ok the single barrel shot guns are piling up over here and a few are a bit worn . The main thing is the barrel pin , could you not bore it to a bigger pin or get bushings for it ? the lock ups i think i can fix with a bit of welding , grinding and polishing . i had one break open when it fired , not all the way but damn close

A gun opening upon firing tends to indicate a worn top lever spring - at least it did on my Browning and Savage/Fox guns. Hinge pins can be more tricky, depending on whether or not they were originally designed to be replacable

Brownells sells hinge pins in several sizes along with the reamers to install them.

A gun opening when fired can be the result of several factors; loss of spring tension, wear on the locking block, wear on the barrel lug, etc.
