Hi all, I would like to store a few pounds of black powder for the up coming Zombie Apocalypse. The goverment knows what firearms I have except the blackpowder. I have thought about using a vacuum sealer, but maybe putting the powder under pressure might not be a good idea. Thanks for your help.

I just use Pyrodex and 777, but I store both of them (as well as my smokeless) in the original containers. Some of em for many years. I have never had any problems or noticed a difference between cans when I open a new one.

up coming Zombie Apocalypse.
Do my round balls still work on those things if I don't paint em that fluorescent green? ;)

Black powder keeps just fine in its original container. I have some pretty old black powder that still shoots like it's new.

I doubt the last person has been killed by something that was loaded almost 150 years ago and has been buried in the ground ever since.

You will find that Black Powder is such fun to shoot that it doesn't stay around long enough to be a problem.
I have bought 18 lbs since October 2011 and have 4 lbs in inventory now.

+1 to that! I started shooting Goex in March and haven't shot anything else since. What a hoot:)

To the op, I store all mine in their original canisters, but do keep the cans in a spare metal sealed ammo box, just cause I got one that's not being used.

How does the goverment know what firearms you have?

What firearms? What are you talking about? Are you saying people can actually own guns in this country?...........Ooh are we finished with this conversation yet? American Idol is coming on and I don't want to miss an episode for the first time in 10 years:)
