How To Replace "red Dot" Safety Indicator

My cleaning solvent has taken off the red paint from the safety dot on my SW 469 9mm. What can I use to paint it again?

Quick and easy fix is model airplane paint from WalMart or wherever. More lasting fix, is some Rustoleum Red paint, but I hate to buy that much for 1 drop of paint.

I fully de-greased my gun first, then used some auto touch-up paint that I had for my car. Did this two years ago and it still looks good.

I've used red engine paint with good success. It's very resistant to heat and harsh chemicals.

I just sprayed a pit in a soda cap and dabbed it on with a cardboard match stick.

It's good if you have it laying around like I did. However, it's kind of pricy and probably not worth buying a whole spray can just for a little dot. Perhaps you can find a friend or neighbor who's a gearhead.
