How to prep a nickle finished sideram?

Had a SS sidearm and replaced it with a nickle-finished one.

Due to shooting bowling pins with the SS one, I degreased the top strap , then masked around the sides and then sprayed painted that area with flat matte black paint. The front sight was masked to leave bright.

Really allowed me to pick-up the proper sight alignment with less glare.

I want to due the same with the new nickle finished.

Any recommendations??

Just clean it well before you paint it.

Found a black Marks-a-lot,

does just nicely.

Really picks up that nickled front, now!

Many gun oils and solvents will wash the marker off, but it's easy to replace it.
